There are over 700 unique Indigenous communities in Canada, each with their own story, identity and traditions. Pow Wows are important cultural gatherings for Indigenous Peoples and First Nations across Turtle Island, the land otherwise known as North America. These beautiful celebrations of Indigenous culture showcase deeply rooted traditions through dance, music, story, ceremony, regalia, food, traditional arts, and are also a sacred place of healing.
Attending a Pow Wow is a great way to learn about, appreciate, celebrate and honour Indigenous culture in Ontario, while gaining a better understanding of First Nations communities across the region.
